Marketing communications includes a solid understanding and use of graphic design, and that means keeping up with color trends. The Pantone Color Institute always announces its fashion color report spring during Fashion Week in September. Eventually, I stumble across it.
Now, why do I even look at this when it is meant for fashionistas? Because graphic design often borrows these color trends for marketing communications purposes. That doesn’t mean that they abandon an organization’s brand colors. It does mean that marketing design can incorporate these new colors if they work with, or complement, brand colors. It helps keep brands fresh and up to date.
So, here are the colors to watch for spring 2013:
