Is your business or nonprofit engaging with people in social media and taking advantage of their increasing willingness to collaborate with your brand? If not, you’re missing out on a good opportunity.

According to the latest survey results from Ipsos Open Thinking Exchange (OTX), 29% of American adults post questions, ideas, and pictures on brands’ social networking sites. Among those younger than 35, the percentage leaps to 44%, while those 50 and older are less likely to co-create (22%).

But, get this… Americans are behind the 24-country average polled by Ipsos: 35% of respondents across the entire sample said they post content to brands’ social sites to get advice or information.

Ipsos’ advice?

Given the value and importance of pulling customers into the conversation, it is important for marketers to encourage and support consumer engagement and co-creation . . . listen and respond, answer questions, compliment ideas, share information.”

How is YOUR business or organization faring at this? Are you engaging your customers, clients, donors, volunteers, etc.?
